Fanlike movement of alae nasi in chest disorders (Lyc.). Numerous cases \nof pneumonia of right lung have been cured when associated with hepatic derangement, distressing pain under \nright scapula. Hepatization of upper half of right lung. \nBry. is very similar to Chel. in pneumonia but the pains go continually to the back in Chel. and esp. to the right \nscapula. Rattling in lungs, worse changing position after waking. Frequently useful in bronchitis of children, \nwith dusky red face, oppressed breathing. \nStrong action in the respiratory sphere. Characteristic cough is caused by a sensati on of \u201cdust\u201d in the air \npassages. \nSt. Clair Smith related a case of a young woman, who had for several weeks a dry, racking, fatiguing cough \nnight and day, worse at night, no expectoration and no pain. She looked completely worn out. The cough was \nexcited by a sensation as if throat and larynx were full of dust. \nChel. 3c, a powder every two hours, was given. She only took three when the \u201cdust\u201d left the throat, and with it \nthe cough, and never returned. \nCarleton Smith cured a \u201cDry cough through day with pain  and stitches right side, severe hoarseness 5 p.m., \nvoice scarcely audible.\u201d \nC. M. Foss recorded a typical Chel. case simulating cancer. A man, 45, had catarrh of the nose and, at the \nsame time of the stomach. He had been told he had stomach cancer. Tender ness over stomach with sinking, \ngone feeling, at times reaching a state of painful anguish. Sickness at stomach. All symptoms better by eating. \nChel. 6x cured at once. \nTeste, who proved Chel., placed it at the head of a group which includes Caps, and Viol -o. He mentioned the \nanalogy between the juice of Chel. and the : juice of Garcinia morella, and Gamb. Both are bright yellow and \nchange to orange and brown on drying.  Some authorities have recommended Chel. juice as a substitute for \nGamb. as a hydragogue c athartic. Its ancient external uses ranged from an application in eye disorders to \nchronic ulcers and warts. \nIn Teste's proving he emphasized a dull and heavy, deep -seated pain in whole right side of chest and right \nshoulder, at 1:30 p.m., without cough, but with embarrassed respirations. \nThis pain, which is at times accompanied by dull beatings in the chest, does not allow him to draw a long \nbreath, it is not perceptibly aggravated by the motions of the arm. The pain is particularly felt in the axilla and  \nunder the shoulder blade. \nA sort of numbness of the muscles in the region of the liver and in the right side of the neck, face and head. \nApprehension of threatening pneumonia. Chel. improved in twelve \nhours and cured entirely in a week. \nIn another case of acute rheumatism of feet and ankles, supervening on a slow, remittent fever, Chel. cured \nafter the failure of Rhus-t. and Bry. The patient was a girl of six. Both ankles were affected, feet much swollen \nand extended. The slightest move ment or touch extorted screams. The only relief was constant bathing with \nhot water. \nW. A. Burr cured a case of right sciatic rheumatism of ten years' history in a very corpulent woman, age 55. In \nher case, there were agg ravations coming on in the after noon and evening of each day and lasting into the \nmiddle of the night. \nDuring the paroxysms, the outer ankle\u2019 and lower leg became cyanotic, swelling  \naround ankle, constriction above, great sensitiveness to touch and motion.
