## Keynote Indications
Daphne indica was proved by G. Bute. It, like its relative Daph. mezereon, produces 
disorders of the muscles, bones and skin, hence its relation to syphilis and the anti - syphilitic remedies Aur., 
Merc., and Staph. Clammy skin. Red rash in spots on legs in evening. Itching. Daph. oleoides is credited by 
Hering with relieving leprosy. 
Daph. acts on the tissues, muscles, bones and skin. Fetid breath, urine, sweat. Erratic and electric-like pains. 
Sudden, lightning jerks in different parts of the body. Exostoses with stitching, pressing or dull pain, worse at 
night. Bruised pain. Exhaustion. Parts of the body feel separated (Bapt.). 
Burning in stomach. Gastric symptoms, worse from alcoh ol. For the craving for tobacco  (Calad.). Prostate 
discharges, worse from tobacco.

## Modalities (Aggravations / Ameliorations)
Worse from cold air. Worse touch, pressure. Worse evening in bed. Worse at night. Worse waning 
moon. Cold air aggravates wandering gout. Lying down aggravates gouty pains, backache. Pains are worse 
from warmth of bed. Stooping or bending aggravates pains in spinal cord. Walking aggravates rheumatic pains

### Mind
- Despondent and sad.
- Mental dejection.

- Any effort at thinking causes pain or soreness in brain.

### Eyes
- Scraping in the eyes.
- Violent pains in the eyeballs, in the evening, with great nervous excitement.
- Painful sensation as if the eyes were pushed outwards from the head.
- Sensation around the eyes and eyelids 
 
 
with dryness and heaviness of eyelids.
- Contraction of the pupils.
- Eyes inflamed, weak, dull, as it were swim-
ming in tears.

### Ears
- Burning about ears and on vertex with constant inclination to yawn.
- Buzzing, roaring in ears.
- Roaring 
and humming.

### Face
- Heat and burning sensation in the cheeks, around the ears, and in the vertex, sometimes with constant 
inclination to yawn.
- Sensat ion of swelling.
- Stiffness and tension in the temporo -maxillary joint, with burning, 
smarting in the skin.

### Mouth
- Dryness of mouth as if burnt, after sleep.
- Tongue coated on one side only (Rhus-t.).
- Fetor of the 
tongue.
- Dryness of the tongue after sleep, as if it had been burned.
- Saliva, hot.
- Foul smelling breath.
- Salivation, 
with toothache.
- Nose - Nose scurfy, with some heat.
- Perspiration - Clammy, offensive sweat, with a putrid smell.
- Viscid sweat over the whole body.

### Throat
- Soreness in left side of throat on pressure.
- Inflammation of throat and sup puration of tonsils.
- Feeble 
voice.
- Vision - Floating black spots.
- Weak sight, with confusion of the letters when reading.
- While reading, the letters 
fade and appear as a black line.
- Diplopia.
- COMMENTS - Tongue coated on one side only (Rhus -t.).
- Foul -smelling tongue.
- Ptyalism with hot saliva.
- Fetidity is a marked feature of breath, urine, sweat.
- Sensation that parts of  the body are separated from one 
another.
- Sudden pains, wander suddenly from limbs.
- Pain shoots into the region of the heart or abdomen.
- Sudden stitch 
in region of spleen.
- Ball of right great toe swollen and very painful.
- Cold feeling on buttocks.

### Chest
- Palpitations and starting of the heart, with inability to remain lying on the left side.
- Acute pains in the 
region of the heart, with discouragement and trembling.
- Kidneys - Frequent and abundant emis sion of urine.
- Pain, as from excoriation in the urethra, when 
urinating.
- Urine fetid, turbid, thick, yellowish like rotten eggs.
- Reddish sediment, which adheres to the side 
of the vessel.
- Frequent bedwetting at night.
- Cough, fatigues and hinders sleep.
- Thin, slimy, copious, and bloody expecto ration.
- Cough, with 
vomiting, and yellowish frothy expectoration, mixed sometimes with streaks of blood.
- Suf focative feeling with 
throat complaints.
- Yellow, often frothy, blood -streaked expectoration.
- Copious, thin, slimy mucus.
- Suffocating fits at night.

### Stomach & Abdomen
- Burning in stomach and sensa tion of soreness after each meal.
- Pressure in stomach after 
drinking.
- Sensation of fullness and ebullition in the precordial region.
- Aching in the stomach after drinking.
- Heartburn and sour vomiting.
- Frequent cramps in the stomach.
- After each meal, burning pain and sensation 
of excoriation in the stomach, with frequent risings of flatus, the pains extend to left hypochondrium and to the 
back.
- Nausea and vomiting after breakfast.
- Teeth - Pulsation in the teeth and gums.
- Acute drawing pains in all the teeth.
- Toothache, with and without 
salivation.
- Toothache with fits of shivering, or disposition to perspire.
- Toothache with erections, after sex.
- Temperature - Chilliness with stretching and yawning.
- Fever, similar to typhus, with excessive shivering, 
followed by continued heat, and complete loss of appetite.
- Fever with gastric and nervous suffering.
- Colic with chilliness.
- Pain in the abdomen, with shiverings.
- Contraction of the abdomen.
- Shootings 
and pains in the region of the spleen.
- Arthritic pains which pass rapidly from the limbs to the abdomen.
- Trembling in abdominal muscles.
- Loss of appetite, moderate thirst.

### Urinary & Genital
- Toothache with erections, after sex.
- Sweating of scrotum.
- Discharge of pros tatic fluid, after making  
water.
- Prostatic discharge worse smoking.

### Extremities
- Shooting pains, shift rapidly, worse cold air.
- Pains shift upwards towards the abdomen and heart.
- Bone-ache, piercing pains in the bones and acute shooting pains in the fingers.
- Excessive itching on the arms 
and hands.
- Rheumatic pains in thighs and knees.
- Buttocks cold.
- Right toe swollen, painful.

### Neck & Back
- Pain in the nape of the neck with headache.
- Screwing pain from the ear to the shoulder.
- Sensation as 
though the cervical glands were much swollen.
- Sharp pain beneath left scapula.
- Burning itching in the back.
- Painful pulling along the spinal marrow, worse by stooping.

### Skin
- Clammy skin.
- Red rash in spots on legs, in evening.

### Sleep
- Inclination to sleep with inability to accomplish it.
- Sleeplessness from ach ing in bones.
- Starting on 
falling to sleep, with fright, with chilliness, shivering, cl amminess and viscid sweat.
- Agitated, unrefreshing 
sleep.
- Nightmares.
- Dreams of black cats.
- Dreams of fire.
