## Keynote Indications
Definite knowledge of Hepat. began with an experiment made by Dr. D. G. Kimball, who 
chewed the leaves every day for a chronic irritation of the throat and lungs.  
Tickling irritation in the throat and sensa tion about epiglottis as of particles of food remaining. Scraping and 
rough sensation. Pharyngeal catarrh with profuse, serous sputa and hoarseness. Accumulation of viscid, 
tenacious phlegm with frequent hawking. Sputa sweet, profuse, creamy. Induces free and easy expectoration. 
Soreness at the nostrils.

## Symptoms by System

### Eyes
- Eyes somewhat sensitive to light.
- Itching and smarting eyes.
- Slightly agglutinated in morning.

### Throat
- Rough scraping, irritative and tickling sensation in throat and fauces.
- Pharyngeal catarrh with profuse 
 
 
serous expectoration and hoarseness.
- Irritation of fauces, tickling, itching, scraping, almost constant, worse 
by eating or inhalation of dust.
- COMMENTS - Hale experienced an attack of circumscribed pneumonia with bloody expectoration orelse, 
profuse, yellow, creamy, exceedingly sweet.
- Some pain andconstriction in right chest, tickling in fauces, worse 
by eating or from inhalation of dust.
- Hale chewed the dry leaves and in a few days was well.
- Wegge of Copenhagen confirmed its value in pharyngeal catarrh with profuse serous sputa and hoarseness.

### Chest
- Some pain and constriction of right chest.
- Irritation of the fauces.
- Bronchitis with circumscribed 
pneumonia.
- Sputa bloody, purulent , profuse, yellow, creamy and exceedingly sweet.
- Free and easy 
expectoration.
- Nose - Nosebleeds.
- Bloody mucus frequently blown from left nostril, for three or four days in succession.
- Soreness of end of nose at entrance of nostrils.

### Stomach & Abdomen
- Aids digestion.
