Mitchell recorded the fatal poisoning of workmen who drank the tincture in mistake for brandy. Belching gave no relief. Great appetite, torpid bowels, an unsatisfactory relief \neach morning, leaving a sense of discomfort. \nThere was a peculiar drawing pain in the shoulders and arms during sleep, so that when he woke his fists were \ntightly clenched and flexed on the sternal end of his clavicle, lameness and weariness of the muscles followed. \nSang. 200c, was chosen aftercareful com parison with Nux-v., Graph, and others. It was given every night at \nbedtime. Headaches return at menopause. Right-sided headaches with \nthe flu. Bilious or gastric headaches. \nHering described the headache as the \u201cAmerican sick -headache.\u201d There is a rush of blood causing faintness \nand nausea, pains are sharp or throbbing. Patients cannot bear light, odors, or the least jar, as that of anyone \nstepping across the floor. There can be vomiting of food and bile. Pain so violent the patient goes out of her \nmind or seeks relief by pressing head against pillow or pressing with the hands.  \nCooper gave as a keynote, \u201cIf he goes without food, gets bilious headaches.\u201d Violent, throbbing headache with \nextreme nausea and vomiting, frequent, fetid belch - ings and great salivation.  Severe burning in stomach, \nvomits bitter water and sour, acrid fluids. Nausea may not be relieved by vomiting. Sweets taste bitter, \naggravate the burning. Vomiting of worms. Tormenting thirst. Offensive breath and flatus.  \nIrritation of the nasal mucus membrane. Polyps. Coryza with pain at root of the nose. Influenza, hay fever and \nozaena. Sinusitis, more on the right side. Lost or perverted sense of smell, sensitive to the odor of flowers. \nLaryngitis and membranous croup. Tracheal and bronchial coughs in epidemic influenza. Cough after influenza \nor whooping cough, particularly in children. Cough returns with every fresh cold. Violent, dry cough, wheezing, \nwhistling, metallic. Offensive and acrid discharges. Sputa is almost impossible to raise. \nClarke recorded several cases in which Sang, relieved patients who had thick plugs of suffocating mucus \nwhich the patients were too weak to dislodge. \nOffensive menses, bright red flow, later blood darker and less offensive. Itching of axillae before menses. \nEruptions on the face of young women, during scanty menses. Menopausal disorders, flashes of heat, \nleucorrhea, and painful enlargement of breasts. \nNeuralgia of the face, ameliorated by kneeling down and pressing head firmly against the floor. Pain extends \nin all directions from the upper jaw. \nRheumatism. Rheumatic pain in right arm and shoulder, worse at night. Cannot raise the arm, but can swing \nit to and fro. Frozen shoulder. Great affinity for the right shoulder. Right side generally more affected. \nSymptoms go from right to left. Marked periodicity. Pains in places where the bones are least covered.  \nCooper gave the case of a woman, 19, who had a condition of her throat from scarlatina three years previously, \nand lately increasing deafness. There were noises all over her head and vertigo. Sudden flushings in daytime, \nmenses too frequent, and profuse leucorrhea. Backache, paining her to walk, forcin g her to give up teaching \nfrom the pain. \nPoor appetite from the headaches and tinnitus, she often had pain behind the angles of lower jaw and swollen \nglands. All symptoms disappeared after a single dose of Sang, tincture, although at first the leucorrhea w as \nincreased. \nF.
