# Tribulus Terrestris

## Keynote Indications
The Tribulus plant is full of thorns, which cause intolerable burning, swelling and redness. It 
produces small red pimples and eruptions which look like meals and eruptions due to prickly heat.  
Malarial attacks associated with urticaria. Fevers appear in the morning, no chill or thirst, urticaria-like eruptions 
come on along with the rise of temperature, intense itching which is relieved by cold applications.  
Sexual neurasthenia. Impotency. Ailments from  masturbation, prostate emissions and spermatorrhea. 
Impotence caused by overindulgence of advancing age or when accompanied by urinary symptoms incon -
tinence, painful urination, etc. Prostatitis. Leucorrhea. Gonorrhea. 
Dropsy. Urinary affections. Urinary calculus. Kidney stones. Hepatic obstruction. Skin diseases, worse from 
heat and better from cold. Ulcers due to impurities of blood. Rheumatism. Insomnia.  
COMMENTS - Charaka found it useful in stone, gravel and calculus in the bladder, and strangury. Sus hruta 
recommended it as a great sexual tonic. Bagbhata recommended it for all skin diseases due to impurities of 
blood. Chakradatta thought that it could be effectively used in dropsy. 
Bangasena acknowledged its efficacy in effecting safe delivery. Harita recommended it for sleeplessness. He 
also said that it can produce sound sleep if the root is placed on the head.
