# Uranium Nitricum

## Keynote Indications
Uran-n. belongs to the chromium group of elements. Uran-n. was 
proved by E. T. Blake, his monograph forms part of Hahnemann’s Materia Medica. 
Blake’s proving was suggested by the observation of an old -school experimenter, Leconte, who found sugar 
in the urine of dogs sl owly poisoned with Uran -n. Blake was not very successful in producing sugar, but his 
proving is not any less valuable on that account and clinical use has filled out the picture.  
Uran-n. causes glycosuria and increased urine. Produces nephritis, diabetes m ellitus and insipidus, 
degeneration of the liver, high blood pressure and dropsy. Its therapeutic keynote is great emaciation, debility 
and tendency to ascites and general dropsy. Excessive thirst, nausea, vomiting, excessive appetite. Dry 
mucus membranes and skin. 
High blood pressure. Burning in the stomach, gastric ulcer. Incontinence of urine. Burning in urethra while 
passing urine. Impotency with nightly emissions. Backache and delayed menses. Menses suppressed during 
diabetes. The left side was more affected than the right.

## Modalities (Aggravations / Ameliorations)
Better from deep breathing. Worse at night. Headache worse walking.

- COMMENTS - Many cases of diabetes have been relieved orcured by Uran-n., usually in the lower potencies.
- Diabetes with ex cessive thirst, polyuria and dry tongue.

indications for Uran-n.
- Diabetes concomitant with indigestion, belching, burping, and heartburn.
- Urine with bile and sugar in it, can 
smell fishy.
- Kidney disease with protein in the urine, nephrotic syndrome.

- Very weak (Ph-ac.), 
debilitated, tendencies toward dizziness.
- One case, involving a married woman, was cured with 5 grain doses of Uran-n.

### Head
- Head heavy on waking.

### Mouth
- Painless ulcer with one elevated side in mouth, opposite left anterior upper molar, worse evening.

- Nostrils sore with purulent acrid discharge.

### Throat
- Hawking of tenacious mucus.

### Chest
- Intermittent pain, radiating from left side to ensiform cartilage, worse fasting.
- Cough - Cough with purulent discharge from left nostril.
- Cough with loss of appetite and great prostration.
- Bronchitis with copious mucus expectoration and much emaciation.

### Stomach & Abdomen

### Skin
- White vesicles on hands and legs, with red areola.
- Burning and itching.
- Ecchymo - sis.
- Epithelioma.
- Lupus exedens.

### Sleep
- Restless, with shivering and heat.
- Ex treme languor, on rising from bed.
- Feeling as if he had taken 
cold.
- Great drowsiness and prostration during menses.
