## Keynote Indications
The first homeopathic symptomatology was established by Proll, Stager, Schier and Black 
during the second half of the 19th century, using the mother tincture and low potencies. Proell made a proving 
of the tincture and the symptoms developed resembling an epileptic aura and petit mal, which had the 
additional epileptic feature of recurrence they recurred frequently for two years.  
Vise, affects the nerves and female sexual organs. Lowered blood pressure. Dilated blood vessels but does 
not act on the centers in the medulla. Pulse is slow due to central irritation of the vagus. The symptoms point 
to rheumatic and gouty complaints, neuralgia, especially sciatica. 
Epilepsy, feels a glow that rises up from feet to head. Chorea and metrorrhagia. Chorea from fright. Symptoms 
like epilep tic aura and petit mal. General tremor as if all muscles are in fibrillary contraction. Neuralgia. 
Paresthesia. 
Rheumatism, tearing pains.  Rheumatoid condition ameliorated in fresh air and by the movement. Gouty. 
Sciatica with otorrhea. Spinal pains from uterine causes. 
Feeling of lightness as if floating on air. The brain is swaying around the inside the skull. Congestion in the 
head with head aches and vertigo. Blood would not clot and wounds would not heal. Bleeding of bright red 
blood from the uterus. Valvular disease with disturbances in sexual sphere.  
Rheumatic deafness. Asthma.  Hypertensive albuminuria. Nausea at the sight of the bottle containing the 
medicine to be taken. Pruritus. Burning cold under the right shoulder.

## Modalities (Aggravations / Ameliorations)
Better by counter-pressure, resting quietly, walking in the fresh air. Worse by slightest movement. 
Worse winter, cold, stormy weather, becoming  chilled while hot, heat. Worse in bed, lying on left side. Worse 
suppression of menses. Worse mental effort. Worse tobacco.

### Vertigo
- Vertigo, persistent after epilep tic attack.
- Sensation of lightness, as if floating on air.
- Severe attacks 
of vertigo totters and has to hold on to the furniture.
- Vertigo occurs on  rising from movement, by moving the 
head quickly, tends to fall backwards.
- Vertigo never occurs when 
lying down.
- Vertigo when looking out of a window.
- COMMENTS - Two women took Vise, to procure abortion.
- Every muscle save those of the eyes became 
paralyzed, as did also the intestinal tract.
- They could not swallow and died of starvation in consequence, the 
bowels being obstinately constipated.
- The muscles of speech were also paralyzed.
- A boy, 14, ate some berries, soon after be gan to feel giddy and then be came insensible.
- He was found with 
suffused countenance, lips livid, conjunctiva injected, pupils slightly dilated and fixed, pulse slow and full, 
bounding, breathing slow, stertorous.
- On pricking the soles the feet were quickly drawn up.
- Then, cold applications aroused him, when he began to 
talk incoherently, had spectral illusions and was inclined to be violent.
- In a pamphlet on “Viscum Album” Dr.
- George Black of Torquay put together most of the facts relating to this 
plant including four new provings, by himself and three female provers.
- Black removed with Vise.
- 3c lumbago from chill, tearing pain, wants something to press against it.
- Lumbago, 
right, extending to right buttock, worse by slightest movement.
- Pain in sacral region, unable to turn either side, 
worse slightest movement, “pain of a terrible clutching nature, as if her vitals were affected.”  
Cooper gave great relief with Vise, in “old spinal irritation pains.” He also named “spinal symptoms due to 
uterine causes” as indicating it.
- Rheumatism, “th e weight of my body on the joint causes it to be very sore,” 
excessive perspiration.
- Sciatica associated with otorrhea.
- Burning pain from center of left buttock to inner ankle, heel as if red-hot coal 
applied, leg feels heavy as lead.
- In addition a number  of cases of catarrhal deafness with noises in the ears 
were cured or greatly improved.
- Belcher gave to a girl, 17, suffering from chorea, 5 drop doses of a tincture of leaves and berries.
- On the 
second day he was called to see her and found her suffering as if under the influence of an opiate.
- Black also quoted William Huber’s experi ences with Vise., the first case was of retained placenta with 
constitutional symptoms after miscarriage at sixth month.

- A man, 22, robust, fair took a chill from traveling in ice-cold wind.
- Got a drawing, tearing pain in left lower jaw, 
lasting some hours.
- Succeeded by loud buzzing and stopped -up feeling, ending in complete deafness of that 
ear.

- John Wilde made a tincture of the bruised leaves and gave 5 drop doses to a boy, 14, who had chorea affecting 
face and limbs.
- There was improvement in two days and in a few weeks a complete cure.
- A boy, nine, strumous with tendency to skin disease, was affected with chorea after a fright.
- He was completely 
changed in expression, speech quite inarticulate, look idiotic.
- The movements continued at night and the boy was worn out for want of sleep.
- Vise., 1 to 2 drop doses, did 
no good.
- The dose was then increased to 15 drops .
- Improvement set in at once and a perfect cure was 
effected, the doses being diminished after a time because soreness of the tongue and redness of the 
conjunctiva were set up.

- Boger related a case in which persistent vertigo after epileptic seizures , lasting a month at a time, was 
cured with Vise.

when characterized by tearing pains in cases occurring in winter, the result of exposure to sharp winds and in

### Throat
- Throat dry, burning with sticky discharge.
- Sensation of constriction around the neck.

### Chest
- Angina pectoris.

- Hypertrophy with valvular insufficiency, pulse small and weak, unable to 
rest in a reclining positions.
