## Keynote Indications
The meadow parsnip is a common plant indigenous to the United States on the moist banks 
of streams and in open wet woods, where it flowers in June and July. Millspaugh noted that Rafinesque spoke 
of it as vulnerary, anti-syphilitic and sudorific. 
Marcy proved Ziz. on hims elf and some others, and symptoms of poisoning have been added. Marcy 
considered Ziz. espe cially suitable in brain affections, catarrhal, asthmatic and pleuritic diseases, and in 
ovarian neuralgia. 
Exhilaration with increased physical strength, but a slight amount of exercise caused fatigue. The spasms and 
convulsions of the Umbelliferae were elicited. The generative organs in both sexes were excited.  
Ziz. has spasmodic movements of the muscles of face and limbs. Chorea, twitching during sleep. Convulsions, 
epilepsy. Spasms of face and limbs. Spasms, swooning convulsions and fainting fits, ending in death in three 
hours. Surface of body sensitive to touch. 
Whole body white and puffy. Edema of face and ankles. Aspect of grave and chronic illness. Hypochondriasis, 
desire to commit suicide. Increased strength with inclination for exertion.

## Modalities (Aggravations / Ameliorations)
Pains fixed, worse by move ment. Worse noise, light, evening. Worse contact, to uch, motion. 
Worse lying, stooping, coughing. Pressure causes pain in intercostal muscles. Pressure on stom ach causes 
nausea and faintness.

- Coldness of hands and feet, drowsiness and irritability.
- Surface of body paler than natural, 
white, puffy appearance of whole body.

### Head
- Rush of blood to head and face with feeling of fullness (Bell.).

### Face
- Pale and puffy.

### Mouth
- Bitter, bilious taste.
- Dry mouth.
- Tongue red and unusually sensitive to cold and warm drinks.

- Tongue is broad, furred in middle, red at tip and sides.

### Stomach & Abdomen
- Stomach sensitive to touch, pressure causes nausea and faintness.

- Temperature - Chilliness and heat alternating with faintness, nausea, pain in right temple, redness of eyeballs, 
dry and red tongue and thirst for cold water.

face and upper limbs, followed by fever.

- Unusually tired feeling in legs after slightest 
exertion.

### Neck & Back
- Pain in posterior margin of scapula.
- Aching, smarting, stinging with aching in small of back when at 
their worst.
- Smarting burning in small of back.
- Dull pains in loins, worse by movement.

### Skin
- Itching pimples on forehead, wrists and legs.

### Sleep
- Drowsiness with sense of fatigue.
- Sleep prevented by pains.
- During sleep spasmodic twitches, talking, 
unpleasant dreams.
