Infectious Diseases \n \nCholera \n \nSulphur is the best preventative tr eatment during a cholera epidemic.  \nSulphur 200 every day for two days and then twice a week saves one \nfrom contracting cholera.  As soon as the symptoms of cholera appear, \nCamphor in a low potency can cure  cholera altogether.  Once the \nsymptoms have started, especially  the silent type of cholera, \nassociated with large exuberant  watery stools, causing severe \ndehydration and weakness leading to coldness of the body, can best be \ntreated with Camphor.  The most pr ominent indication for Camphor is \nnausea and vomiting, more so than diarrhoea. \n \nCuprum is also an extremely effec tive treatment of cholera especially \nthe kind associated with severe abdominal colic and severe cramps in \nthe hands and the feet, starting in the fingers and toes and then spreads \nupwards.  This type of cholera is best treated with Cuprum.  In the \ndiarrhoea of Cuprum, the stools ar e scanty, frequent and associated \nwith severe griping.  The cholera associated with exuberant amounts \nof stools and severe cramps in the calves will respond best to \nVeratrum Album.  The following remedies may also be of use: \n \nAethusa Podophyllum \nArsenicum Album Secale Cor \nCarbo Veg  \n \nAbdominal Colic in Intestinal Infections  \n \nThis may be associated with the tendency of nausea and vomiting due \nto cholera or any other illness.  It should be treated with the \ncombination of Croton 30, Ipecac 30, Carbo Veg 30, Baptisia 30. \n \nNausea and vomiting that get better with drinking cold water is \nindicative of Cuprum.  Cuprum is al so effective in the treatment of \nmumps.  Similarly, Cuprum is useful in the treatment of paralysis of a \nlimb caused by typhoid fever.  The other possible remedies are:-\nAntimonium Crudum Dioscorea \nArgentum Nitricum Iris \nArsenicum Album Nux Vomica \nColchicum Pulsatilla \nColocynthis Sulphur  \n \n \nMalaria \n \nPlease refer to the detailed accounts  of malaria under the chapters of \nthe following remedies. Silicea, Kali Phos and Ferrum \nPhos help manifest the symptoms onto the skin.  Allium Cepa as well \nas Arsenic and Psorinum may al so be useful, depending upon the \nsituation i.e. symptoms and signs of the sickness. Other useful remedies are: \n \nBelladonna Ipecacuanha \nCoccus Cacti Kali Carb \nCuprum Metallicum Senega \nHydrocyanic Acid Tarentula \n \nInfluenza \n \nSulphur and Pyrogenium have been found very useful in the treatment \nof influenza fever.  Besides them, Influenzinum, Bacillinum, \nDiphtherinum, Oscillo Coccinum, Kali Phos, Ferrum Phos, Kali Mur, \nSilicea and Calcarea Fluor should also be studied. \n \nArsenicum Album Eupatorium \nBryonia Gelsemium \nCarbo Veg Natrum Sulph \nDulcamara Rhus  Tox \n \n Dysentery \n \nCommonly used remedies are: Ipecac, Aconite, Kurchi, Dioscorea and \nColocynthis.
