It keeps the\nsugar level balanced and is very good for the treatment of high blood\nsugar.  However, its general symptoms include nervous tension and\nits related ill effects, mental dispos ition, fear and anger.  Furthermore,\nNatrum Phos is very effective against the diseases resulting from\nmoral transgression and inapprop riate sexual conduct during the\nyouthful years .  Usually it is given in 6X  potency.  If the desired\nresults are not produced with 6X, th en it becomes necessary to give\nthe remedy in potency 30 or 200 or sometimes even in higher potency.\n\nNatrum Phos has a deep relationship with the formation of red cells in\nthe blood, although Ferrum Metallicum or Ferrum Phos are the actual\nremedies for treating the deficiency  of red blood cells.  However,\nsometimes these remedies by themselves are not effective.  When\nFerrum Phos and Ferrum Met are given in combination with Natrum\nPhos, this becomes a very good treatment for  iron deficiency\nanaemia.  For the treatment of iron deficiency, at the beginning,\nFerrum Phos, Kali Phos or Calcarea Phos should be given.  These are\nthe best treatment for iron deficienci es in pregnant women.  However,\nthey should not be used continuously.  After being used for some time,\nthey should be stopped and then give n again.  If this formula does not\nwork and the blood defi ciency in women, whether pregnant or not,\nneeds to be corrected, then Natr um Phos should also be added.\nNatrum Phos is very useful in th e treatment of both blood deficiency\nand diabetes.\n\nOne symptom of Natrum Phos is that the patient does not like open\nair.  The patient of Natrum Phos, like that of Sulphur, dislikes taking a\nbath and there is a tendency to permanent nasal catarrh .  Hunger is\nunbearable and satisfied only by taking a lot of food.  The patient does\nnot like greasy heavy foods, vinegar, fruit and milk, etc.  The dislike\nfor fatty foods resembles Pulsatilla.\n\nWhen due to prolonged illness, the body secretions dry up  and the\ndigestive juices decrease , Natrum Phos does an excellent job of\nrectifying them.  However, China ha s clear superiority over Natrum\nPhos.\n\nSometimes a part of the body becomes numb .  If the hand, finger or\na part of the ear becomes numb, Natrum Phos is a good remedy.\nSimilarly Natrum Phos is useful, if  the blood rushes to a particular\npart of the body. Sudden body shakes at night  and associated sharp\npain along the course of the arteries  is also one of the symptoms of\nNatrum Phos.  But in all these conditions, Natrum Phos will be\neffective only if it matches the constit ution of the patient.  Otherwise,\nthese conditions may resemble several other remedies, though every\none of them cannot be a match.  So metimes, while lying in the bed,\nthe body may suddenly start to shake violently.\n\nNatrum Phos is very effective in the treatment of weak musculature\nand nervous tension especially affecting the eye , as well as in the\ntreatment of muscular twitching.  Si nce the patient of Natrum Phos\nsuffers from hyperacidity in the stomach, it also reflects in the\nsourness of their perspiration and on their person.  This pungent type\nof smell does not remain unnoticed by others.\n\nSometimes, on hearing some bad news, a patient becomes totally\nmute.  In this condition besides ot hers, Natrum Phos produces an\nimmediate benefit, safeguarding agai nst future dangers.  Otherwise,\nthe patient may either become insane or start having fits of hysteria.\nThe scalp starts itching  with yellow pimples.  Natrum Phos is also\neffective against eczema  over the forehead.  If the head feels heavy\nand hairs start falling, then Natrum P hos is also useful.  In general,\nthere is no cure for baldness, however, if hair loss is due to a\nparticular deficiency, then the hair loss may start to improve by itself\nwhen that deficiency is treated.  In particular, there is a specific\nformulary that has shown extraordinary success in homoeopathy for\nAlopecia.  In Alopecia, the hair on the head starts to come off in\nbunches.  With appropriate treatment,  the hair starts growing rapidly\nin a very short period of time.\n\nIn Natrum Phos, the headache becomes worse on mental exertion.\nThe pain begins in the eyes, at the nape  of the neck and temples with\npins and needles and burning sensation. Natrum Phos is very\n\nbeneficial for the eyes as well.  If while reading, the right eye starts to\ntwitch, Natrum Phos will be especially effective.  If some other\nsymptoms of Natrum Phos are also present, then Natrum Phos will be\neffective against squint also.  If on being ti red during the day, the\npatient sees stars dancing before hi s eyes, then Rhus Tox is the best,\nalthough Natrum Phos may also be effective.  In Natrum Phos,\nyellowish fluid starts to flow from the eyes, and the eyes also become\nyellowish. The eyesight becomes foggy.  There is an itching and\nburning sensation in the eyelids.  The distant vision becomes weak.\n\nThe patient hears all sorts of noises in his ears .  The hearing either\nincreases or decreases.  There is earache and a pins and needles\nsensation behind the ears.  Only one ear becomes red, hot and itchy.\n\nThe Natrum Phos patient generally suffers from cold and catarrh .\nThick secretions stick inside the nose.  There is a tendency to sneeze.\nThe sense of smell becomes sharp.  There is irritation in the left nostril\ncausing sneezing and the eyes start watering.  Natrum Phos may be\neffective to treat the post-nasal drip  of yellowish colour.  In Natrum\nPhos, the gums bleed .  A yellowish crust is formed on the tongue.\nThe palate becomes yellowish while the mouth and tongue become\ndry. Children grind their teeth at night .  The teeth decay, the\ncavities in the teeth due to excessive consumption of sugar, respond\nwell to Natrum Phos.\nNatrum Phos may be useful in the treatment of peptic ulcers of the\nstomach, resulting from hyperacidity, associated with throbbing pain\nand a piercing sensation over the stomach.\nThe symptom of diarrhoea alternatin g with constipation is common to\nmany drugs.  If the constitution of such a patient resembles Natrum\nPhos, then Natrum Phos alleviates the problem.  Intestinal worms are\nalso treatable with Natrum Phos.\n\nSome children urinate on the bed during the night .  For this\nsymptom, Natrum Phos, when give n in combination with Kali Phos\nand Natrum Mur, is very effective.  If one sweats a lot, then the urine\noutput decreases.  However it is st range that in Natrum Phos both\nsweat and urine increase.  Natrum  Phos may be useful for the\ntreatment of the diseases of the reproductive organs of both men\nand women that are due to diabetes.  If the uterus happens to sag from\nits normal position, hindering pregnancy, then Natrum Phos can\nrestore the uterus to its original place and thus promote pregnancy.\n\nNatrum Phos is also good for the treatment of a dry hacking cough ,\nwhich starts with a hissing sound in the chest and trachea.  A special\nsymptom of Natrum Phos is that a \u2018bubble\u2019seems to originate from the\nheart region and he has a feeling of  constriction and tightness in the\nchest.  The patient feels uncomfort able due to fullness in the upper\npart of the chest.  Sometimes, ther e is pain also.  After eating and on\ndeep breathing, the blood vessels of the heart are compressed and the\nheart symptoms can develop.  The heartbeat becomes rapid with\nanxiety.  The noise aggravates the symptoms.   Lying on the left side\nalso aggravates all the symptoms, which are a prelude to heart disease.\nThe palpitations increase on climbing the stairs.\n\nThe backache during menstruation  responds very well to Natrum\nPhos.  However, according to my experience, Natrum Phos given in\ncombination with Kali Phos and Mag Phos is much more effective.\n\nNatrum Phos is very useful when  the symptoms of tightness at the\nback, pain and sweating are more prominent. Natrum Phos may also\nbe useful to control the cardiac pa in felt on both sides of the neck.\nDuring menstruation, the hands and feet become cold especially\nduring the day.  Cramps on writing, th e feeling of ants crawling over\nthe arms and legs, the limbs feeling heavy and numb are all the\nsymptoms of Natrum Phos.  There is pain in the joints and a feeling of\ncramps and weakness in the legs.  Th e joints crackle (crepitus).  Joint\npains usually start from the right shoulder and may sometimes remain\nlimited to the shoulder area only.  The whole body feels abrased.\nWhile walking, a leg may suddenly give way temporarily.\n\nDry pimples with burning sensation form on the skin, with golden\nyellow scabs.  Red or yellow spots become visible on the body, as in\nFerrum Phos.  In Natrum Phos, the skin becomes pale.  There is\nswelling of the affected area and the skin.  There is a feeling of ants\ncrawling.  Moles also form.\n\nAlthough the Natrum Phos patient sleeps a lot, the sleep is never deep.\nThe patient sees worrisome dreams and may drop asleep while seated\nin a chair.
