## Keynote Indications
Source: Derived from a nosode prepared from syphilitic tissue or serous exudate, rendered safe for. homeopathic use through trituration and serial dilution to eliminate infectious material while. enhancing therapeutic action, in accordance with homeopathic pharmacopeia standards. Due to. ethical and safety concerns, modern preparations use highly diluted forms to avoid any risk of. infection. Traditional Context: Historically employed in homeopathy for constitutional, neurological,. dermatological, and psychological disorders , particularly those involving chronic, destructive. processes, night aggravations, and syphilitic miasmatic tendencies. It is noted for symptoms such as. bone pains, ulcerations, and aggravation at night, often worsened by night, dampness, or heat, and. ameliorated by day, cold air, or high altitudes. Modern Context: Indicated for constitutional conditions (e.g., chronic fatigue syndrome,. autoimmune disorders), neurological conditions (e.g., neuropathy, multiple sclerosis),. dermatological conditions (e.g., chronic ulcers, psoriasis), psychological conditions (e.g.,. obsessive-compulsive disorder, major depressive disorder), and musculoskeletal conditions (e.g.,. osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia). secretions. Fetid pus formations. Succession of abscesses. Eruptions with copper-colored spots. Pemphigus.
Ozaena with discharge of fetid clinkers. Catarrhal and nerve deafness. Itching of nostrils. Fetid discharges
from the ear. Alopecia universalis. Dark purple lines between alae nasi and cheeks. Itching, scabby eruptions

Craving for alcoho l in any form. He reditary tendency to alcoholism. Impaired nutrition, emaciation. Burnett
recorded many instances of Syph. helping stunted children. Progeria. Babies that never stop crying and
screaming ever since they were born (Jal., Aeon.).
Leucorrhea, profuse, soaking through napkins and running to heels. Rectal pain. “Obstinate constipation for
years, rectum seems tied up with strictures, when enema was used the agony of passage was like labor.”
H. C. Allen said “Syphilitics or patients who have had c hancre treated by local means and as a result have
suffered from throat and skin troubles for years, are nearly benefited by this remedy at commencement of
treatment unless some other remedy is clearly indicated.”
; Thomas Wildes noted that, in his experi ence with Syph., the chancre increases for the first two weeks and
then gradually fades away, not being followed by secondaries.
Wildes cured a bookkeeper who, for many months, had a piercing, pressing, excruciat ing headache over his
right eye extending deep into his brain. It was so severe, he was losing continuity of thought and memory.
Under Syph. 1,000c every night, the headache disappeared entirely in ten days and his mental faculties were
fully restored. But in six weeks the whole eyebrow on that side broke out into a sickly, yellow, syphilitic eczema
with a red, angry and oozing base extending under the arch to the lid, from canthus to canthus, up into forehead
and down the side of the nose.
The cure of this was tedious; Wildes attributed it to his change of remedy instead of continuing with Syph. This
man had syphilis a few years before.
In 1879 a woman, 26, extremely bright and intelligent, came to Wildes with a dreadful
Syphilinum ozaena. She also had a spinal curvature and congestion of right ov ary. She had always been
delicate.
Syph. cured the ozaena and improved her health, but it “drove out a saddle to which the Sepia saddle is but a
shadow.” A furious inflammatory mass of syphilitic sores, scabs and eczema, red and angry with a fiery base
extending from one malar prominence to the other, across nose up to eyes and forehead. This took eighteen
months to cure. The ozaena never returned.

A boy, age 4, had an obstinate rash, a combination of prurigo and herpes, on his chin, lips, cheekbone,
forehead and hairy scalp, on arms, chest, back, bends of joints and on the joints and on fingers and hands,
nowhere profuse. In spite of authorities to the contrary, Wildes maintained that syphilitic rashes may itch and
that prurigo is infectious and is one of the initial stages of leprosy.
This boy had a spot of eruption on the left thigh the size of the top joint of a man’s thumb. This was distinctly
a leper spot. Syph. 1,000c caused the rash to come out strongly all over the body in patches, the face was
one-third covered with a thick, yellow, scabby eruption. The remedy was continued and the boy got well,
wonderfully improved in health, was no longer nervous, grew well, slept well, with good appetite.
A girl, 16, had measles a year before which did not come out properly. A year and a half prior she was subject
to neuralgic headaches. She had been ailing about two years, very despondent, wanted to die, headaches
growing more violent.
During the headaches, the temple veins stood out, had pains all over the body, was very irritable, restless,
walked about much of the time, did not wish to be soothed, violent on being opposed, had tremors and seemed
on the verge of convulsions, dazed, absent minded and almost insane. Always washed her hands. She was
formerly constipated, but now subject to “a kind of diarrhea.”
Menses never came on properly and for the past year had been very irregular, much delayed, scanty and
always extremely painful. Often feverish. Anxious sleep, distressed and often wakeful and violently restle ss.
The symptoms indicated Syph. and under this she steadily recovered.
A young woman contracted “leprosysyphilis” from vaccination. She had ablood- boil on her arm that would not
heal. Face broken out with a fiery rash. With Syph. 1,000c at bedtime she r ecovered rapidly. The arm healed
quickly and her face became free from eruption.
A boy, 3, had a cluster of yellow blotches on his fingers and roots of nails, distorting the nails. The boy ’ s father
was epileptic. The boy was helped with Fl-ac. and cured with Syph., the nails became straight.
G. H. Carr related the case of an old man who had been troubled for two or three winters with an intense
cold pain in both legs. It came on every night on lying down and lasted all night, the only relief was from getting
up and walking.
Magnetic leggings had given the most relief. Syph. 1,000c, one dose daily, was given. He lost the pain for six
weeks, when it returned in milder form. Syph. 100,000C was given and he had no more pains all the winter.
The medicine, he said “made his genitals ache so that he couldn’t sit still.” This lasted over a month.
Syph. 100,000c cured a woman of “asth ma” that she had for twenty -five years, the attack coming on only at
night after lying down or during a thunderstorm.
Swan said he gave crying infants one dose of Syph. 100,000c, when they developed the propensity
immediately after birth and did not cease, and it was difficult to make them cry after that.
Yingling reported the case of Rev. D., 30, who was dark and free from venereal diseas e. Haggard look. He
had a constant dull, heavy ache above inner angle of right eye, very distressing with an occasional thrust as
of an iron rod from the same spot through to lower part of occiput. This thrust was excruciating.
He was due to preach the nex t day, but the pain quite incapacitated him, which led him to appeal for help.
Syph. 100,000c, one dose,
was given. He was free from pain before he reached home, and was perfectly well the next morning.
Temperature - Chilly. Nervous chills preceded by pains in head. Fever dry, hot, shortly after going to bed,
parted lips, great thirst. Sweats at night with exhaustion. Pain or distress deep in abdomen as if in omentum. Feeling of heat internally in hypogastric region.
Pain in right groin followed by swelling of glands. Larg e, painless bubo in right groin, opened and discharged
freely. Capricious appetite. No food agrees or satisfies him. Total loss of appetite for months. Craves
alcoholic drinks. Aversion to meat.
