The periodicity shows itself, as in diarrhea, which comes every \nsix weeks. \nThe worse from warmth common to Carb -v. and Sulph. shows itself in Carb -s. A feeling of vibration and \ntrembling in whole body, particular ly in hands. Carb -s. has the flatulence of Carb -v. and the abdominal \nsoreness of Sulph. \nIn many cases, the action on vision was very marked. Myopia, asthenopia, achro matopsia, dyschromatopsia. \nCloudiness and atrophy of optic disc. Optic discs pale. Central scotoma for light and colors. Retinal congestion. \nArteries and veins tortuous. Veins are distended and arteries contracted. Everything seemed in a fog, as if a \nspider's web over objects, green or red. \nOne patient had complete right side hemiplegia, follo wing sudden loss of con sciousness, blindness of right \neye and great impairment of vision of left. \nLoss of memory, especially for words, was a very frequent symptom. Delusions were common: \u201cHeard voices \nand believed he had committed a robbery,\u201d \u201csensation of a hole close by into which he was in danger of falling.\u201d \nOne acute case concerned a girl, aged 15, who was employed in vulcanizing works, and was exposed to the \nfumes one whole day. Before this, she had, from smaller exposures to the fumes, frontal pains and heaviness \nof the head. \nAfter this, the pains became more violent and were accompanied by painful contraction of masseters, then by \nstiffness of neck and vertebral column, finally of legs and arms. The contracture was generalized, but nowhere \ncomplete, though the jaws could not be separated. Ulcerative stomatitis ensued and tartar accumulated on the \nteeth. \nE. Case cured with Carb -s. 30c in a slender, nervous woman, a \u201cSensation, as of a weight between the \nscapulae, compel ling her to bend forward. Thr obbing in the dorsal spine as if a heart were beating there. \nConstipation with ineffectual urging to stool, hemorrhage of bright blood from rectum after stool.
