Wrinkles appear on the face reflecting senility.  The patient feels\nweak and listless.  Chininum Ars is the examplary treatment for such\npatients. However, one cannot benefit without understanding the basic\nconstitution of Chininum Ars.\n\nChininum Ars is a compound of China and Arsenic.  It is prepared\nfrom the bark of Cinchona, which used to be the source of quinine\n(considered to be the best medicine for malaria).  Later on, more\nmedicines were discovered for the treatment of malaria, though\nquinine has its own unique status.\n\nChininum Ars is very useful in combating the residual ill effects of\nmalaria.  The liver and spleen enlarge; the skin is dry, lacking normal\nlustre.  The skin looks yellow all over.  The person frequently gets out\nof breath and loses his appetite.  Such patients do not recover\nimmediately with Chininum Ars, th erefore, it should be used over a\nlong period and then it works wonders.\n\nCold air aggravates the symptoms of Chininum Ars.  There is a\nconstant feeling of slight cold  in the body.  There is chronic\ndiarrhoea in which stools are watery and putrid.  Various parts of the\nbody are swollen.  The patient does not want to move.  Instead, he\nlikes to lie down still.  In  Chininum Ars, there is throbbing in the\nmuscles which can be felt to the finge rtips.  The pulse is weak,\nthready and slow.\n\nIn Chininum Ars, like Lachesis, th e symptoms aggravate after sleep.\nThe body feels restless, more so by the evening.  Many patients have a\nguilty conscious and firmly believe th at they cannot be forgiven.  The\nChininum Ars patient feels guilty over trifle misgivings and becomes\nsuspicious-minded (a victim of fear and superstition) . Sometimes\nsuch patients may experience odd visual hallucinations.\n\nChininum Ars 250\n\nDuring fever, a Chininum Ars patient suddenly jumps out of bed with\nfear.  He remains restless, gradua lly loses hope and becomes sick of\nlife.  Noise is unbearable and th e memory becomes weak.  Such\npatients, who have lived luxurious a nd vulgar lives, are more likely to\ndevelop the symptoms of Chininum Ars.\n\nIn Chininum Ars, due to the weakness of the nerves and lack of blood,\nthe patient feels jerking during sleep .  This symptom has been\nmentioned in reference to many othe r remedies but is a symptom of\nChininum Ars as well.  Sometimes , the patient wakes up due to the\nfeeling of pain that spreads thr ough the body like a flash of lightning.\nIn Chininum Ars, the symptoms resulting from low blood pressure are\nthe same as those in Arnica and Belladonna associated with high\nblood pressure.  The arms, legs, hands  and feet become cold, but then\nthe blood pressure rises.  This is a specific symptom of Chininum Ars.\n\nIn Chininum Ars, weakness is more pronounced on the right side,\nsuch as the right side of the neck and the right arm .  When the\nweakness advances, one may have convulsions.  A t  n i g h t  t h e r e  i s\nheadache.  Nasal cold also causes headache.  In general, when the cold\nis suppressed, the headache gets worse.  There is a feeling of being\nhammered over the head  that is usually due to the lack of blood.\nThis symptom is also salient in  Natrum Mur (because Natrum Mur\nalso is one of the best treatments for anaemia).  In this, the blood\nbecomes more dilute.  In Chininum  Ars, the lack of red blood cells\ncause anaemia, so the swelling noti ced in Chininum Ars is soft and\npitting in nature.  The muscles of the scalp also hurt. The symptoms\naggravate in the cold.\n\nIn Chininum Ars, there are symptoms related to the eyes  as well.\nLight irritates the eye and produces wa rm tears.  This symptom is also\nfound in Natrum Mur.  As far as the eyes are concerned in Chininum\nArs, ulcers are found in not only one but in both eyes.  The tendency\ntowards developing ulcers and eczema simultaneously  is also\npresent in Chininum Ars, as in Arnica.  In Arnica, if there is irritation\nin one eye it will eventually cause irritation in the other eye as well.\nBoth eyes hurt at the same time.  This happens in Chininum Ars also\nbut the patient sees flashing stars and flames , which are more\nmarked in the left eye than the right.  Tears form in the left eye.  There\nis a feeling of pain.  There is noise in the ears  and voices are heard.\n\nChininum Ars 251\nThe hearing either becomes unusually  sharp or the patient starts\nbecoming deaf.  These contradicting symptoms are specific to\nChininum Ars.\n\nThe nose discharges blood-mixed fluid or offensive smelling pus .\nThe nose starts decaying from the inside.  There is peeling of the lips\nand the tip of the nose.  The face is  pale, earth coloured and swollen\nlike yeast.  A strange kind of glar e appears on the face, typical of\nanaemia.  The inner linings of th e mouth cavity may bleed.  Streaks\nappear on the tongue.  The colour of  the tongue may be black, brown,\nwhite or yellow. The gums become swollen  and they start receding\nfrom the teeth.  There is distaste in the mouth; even the best food\ntastes awful.  There is unrelenting thirst, toothache at night and\ngrinding of the teeth which disturbs the sleep.  The throat is dry and\nsometimes there is a stinking smell from the throat.  This is a grave\nsign because it shows that the sores inside the mouth are far too\nserious and have become necrotic.  If all the symptoms of Chininum\nArs are not evident in this kind of  patient, Arsenic in high potency\nshould be administered without de lay.  One symptom of Chininum\nArs is that the person feels discom fort on swallowing a drop of water\nor a morsel of food, even if the thro at is not evidently diseased.  There\nis a need for constant hawking to clear the throat.\n\nSometimes in Chininum Ars, the a ppetite is completely extinct and\none has a bad taste in the mouth, while at other times, there is an\nintense never-ending appeti te to eat.  As soon as food is taken, the\nabdomen becomes full.  There is a feeling of burning and acidity and\nsoon after taking food, the patient feels hungry again. He cannot\ndigest fish and eggs but definitely is  not allergic to them.  In case of\nallergy to eggs , just one dose of Calcaria Carb in high potency may\ndo the job.  It normally works, though not always.\n\nIn Chininum Ars, nausea does not let the patient sleep .  As soon as\nthe nausea is treated, the person goes to sleep but soon afterwards, he\nvomits, meaning that the nausea was only temporarily suppressed yet\nits real cause persisted.\n\nAll the abdominal ailments produ ced after malaria are found in\nChininum Ars.  The liver and the spleen are enlarged  but the rest of\nthe abdomen is shrunken and drawn in.  The stools are dry and lumpy\ndue to constipation.  In Arsenic patients, some fruits cause diarrhoea.\n\nChininum Ars 252\n\nIn Chininum Ars, haemorrhoids or piles are also found, which are\nmarkedly swollen and bluish.  They also itch.  In the urine, the patient\npasses albumin and sugar. Chininum Ar s is useful in the treatment of\nsexual weakness of men as well as  women.  Women suffer from an\nabrasive type of leucorrhoea  and the discharge is mixed with blood.\nThe menses are copious in amount , free, offensive smelling and\nblack or yellowish in colour.  They may continue for a long time and\nthen suddenly stop altogether.  If th e peculiar symptoms of Chininum\nArs are also present, then this remedy, by Allah\u2019s grace, cures all the\nsymptoms.\n\nIn Chininum Ars, there is a feeling of spasm and paring in the\nwindpipe, along with the sensation of suffocation .  Deep breathing\nis difficult because it causes irritation inside the air passage.\nSymptoms of Asthmatic cough can also be present.\n\nThere is pain at the area of the heart, with feelings of tightness and\nsuffocation, convulsion, swelling, w eakness and palpitations.  The\nhands and feet become cold.  There is severe cramping of muscles in\nthe calves .  There are rheumatic pains in the body and pain in the\nknees and legs.  The patient sleeps peacef ully only in the latter part of\nthe night.\n\nIt must be kept in mind that all the above symptoms, which are due to\nthe lack of blood, will be treated by Chininum Ars.
