Its patient develops\nsudden diarrhoea associated with gr iping and a continuous urge to\npass stools.  As a result, the pati ent becomes very weak.  The skin\nsymptoms of Croton resemble those of Rhus Tox.  Blisters full of\nsecretions form over the skin along with an itching and burning\nsensation.  One noticeable difference between Croton and Rhus Tox is\nthat in Rhus Tox when the eczema gets better, the healthy skin\nappears underneath.  Next time, the blisters do not form at the same\nplace.  Afterwards, if the eczema returns, the previously affected part\nmay become eczematous as well.  In  Croton, the blisters will form\nover the previously healed healthy areas leading to the development of\nan obstinate type of eczema.\n\nRhus Tox and Croton affect the intes tines similarly.  Croton is very\nuseful in the treatment of chronic dysentery and diarrhoea .  Unlike\nRhus Tox and other anti-diarrhoeal  remedies, the diarrhoea in a\npatient of Croton is sudden and pro pulsive.   When children develop\ndiarrhoea soon after taking milk, Cr oton would be the most probable\nremedy.  The nausea in Croton is like that of Ipecacuanha.  In\nIpecacuanah, however, there is only  nausea but no vomiting.  In the\ncase of Croton, there is nausea and diarrhoea but no vomiting.\n\nIn Croton, the stomach distends with wind  and there is rumbling\nnoise in the intestines.  It feels as if the intestines are full of fluid.  The\nstomach feels empty and hungry.  In Croton, the skin and the\nabdominal symptoms alternate with each other.\n\nA variety of eye symptoms ar e also found in Croton.  The eyes\nbecome red and sore .  Pimples and blisters form over the swollen\neyelids.  These symptoms are also noticed in other homoeopathic\nremedies but when there is inflammation of the intestines (Enteritis),\nthe most likely remedy is Croton.  In Croton, the eyes sink back due to\ndehydration.  In Paris Quadrifolia this very symptom may be related to\na wider range of ailments, so much so that the women can feel as if\nthreads are being pulled out of their breasts causing severe pain, which\nmakes sleeping difficult at night.  Croton and Paris differ with each\n\nother. In the former, there is diarrhoea while in the latter there is no\ndiarrhoea.  In Croton, there is a f eeling of pull with a rope under the\numbilicus.  This kind of sensation is also noticed in Plumbum.\n\nRegarding eczema in children, especially the kind involving the scalp,\nCroton and Sepia work very much alike.  But the typical symptoms of\nCroton would differentiate the picture from that of Sepia.\n\nThere is a variety of homoeopa thic remedies related to the eczema\nover the genital organs .  Croton is on the top of  the list.  Rhus Tox,\nAnagallis and Graphites are also fam ous in the treatment of this kind\nof eczema.  The blisters in Croton are smaller than those of Rhus Tox.\nSimilarly the fluid content of the blisters is also less in Croton.  Croton\nand Rhus Tox work as antidote to each  other.  In Rhus Tox there is no\ndiarrhoea.\nThe panacea for the treatment of the severe kind of diarrhoea resulting\nfrom Croton is Podophyllum.  In Podophyllum too, the stools squirt\nout forcefully.  The itching associated  with Croton is best treated with\nRhus Tox.\n\nAnagallis is well renowned for the treatment of itching of the palms .\nThe itching and eczema  of Rhus Tox is usually on the back of the\nhand.  Anagallis is the treatment for a similar condition of the palms\nof the hands.  Burning is milder in the case of Anagallis compared to\nRhus Tox.  The reappearance of  the eczema of Anagallis over the\npreviously affected area resembles the similar tendency in Croton.\n\nThe ailments of Croton get worse in  hot weather.  The patient is\nrestless, confused and sallow.  Ther e is a feeling of severe pressure\nand pain on the forehead.  There is a feeling of heaviness in the head\nand vertigo.  The cough may also provoke an attack of Asthma.  The\npatient starts coughing as soon as he puts his head on the pillow.  The\npatient cannot lie down and finds it impossible to take a deep breath.\n\nCroton should not be forgotten in treating discharging ears with\nsevere itching.  A feeling of burning  in the food pipe (oesophagus) is\nalso a specific sign of Croton.  The stomach feels weak.\n\nIn Croton, the urine is frothy and of orange colour at night .  When\nsettled, sticky particles rise to th e surface.
