Tuberculosis and Other Lung Diseases, \nlike Asthma and Cancer, etc. \n  \nChest diseases have been described to be of three forms i.e. cancer, \nasthma and tuberculosis includi ng pneumonia.  Any patient with a \nchronic chest problem should be trea ted with increasi ng potencies of \nBacillinum or Tuberculinum to bu ild up the resistance of the lungs. \nThe usage of these remedies is described in detail under their \nrespective chapters. With this trea tment, deep-seated ill effects of \ntuberculosis are eliminated and there no longer remains a danger of \ncontracting tuberculosis in the futu re.  For further details, one should \ncarefully study Bacillinum and Tube rculinum to find the descriptions \nof their relationship with diseases of the glands also.   \n  \nTo cure and completely uproot the cancer of the lungs, the best \ntreatment is Phosphorus and Bryonia used alternately and Carcinosin \nin high potency i.e., CM.  The treatment should be given in a few \ndoses with an interval of seven to ten days, and then wait for the \nresults. \n  \nThe treatment of asthma related di seases of the lungs is somewhat \ncomplicated, because they are related to a gonorrhoeal background \nwhich may have been passed on from generation to generation in a \nsuppressed form.  These patients do not apparently suffer from any \nsignificant urinary problem but su ffer from frequently recurring \nasthma which makes life miserable.  Such patients should be treated \nwith Thuja CM as a preventative measure.  If Thuja does not produce \nany significant beneficial effect af ter four doses given weekly, then \nTuberculinum should be used.   \n \nThe following instructions are very useful for a patient of asthma.  \nThe most important thing is the prompt treatment of any nasal catarrh \nor throat condition, because asth ma usually results from the \ncomplications of these two illnesses.  A correct and prompt treatment \nof cold and throat conditions will preclude asthma.  If the cold and \nthroat problems are forcefully treated with strong allopathic \nmedicines, one may develop asthma as a consequence.  The patient \nthen needs to be given antibiotics again and again, and he suffers from \nasthma repeatedly.  Nasal catarrh should be immediately treated with \nInfluenzinum, Bacillinum, Diphterinum, and Oscillococcinum once a\nday for two to three days.  By God\u2019s grace, the catarrh is permanently \ncured.  For a sore throat , the following combination should be used in \na low potency, i.e. 6X, showing immediate effect. These are also \nuseful to abate the fever associated with sore throat; \n \nFerrum Phos + Kali Mur + Calcarea Fluor + Silicea + Kali Phos \n  \nThis prescription has proven very usef ul in the treatment of children.  \nNevertheless, one should avoid taki ng sour or very cold things.  \nParticularly fizzy and sour drinks eg Cola, etc. are very harmful.   If \nthe throat condition is not contro lled with these and it remains \nswollen, then one should give Ch elidonium, Coccus Cacti and Hepar \nSulph 30 combined usually work well. \n  \nIf the asthma is due to the weakne ss of the heart, then Spongia proves \nto be the best remedy.  The cardiac  asthma amenable  to Spongia is \nassociated with a sawing sound duri ng breathing.  Where the cause of \nthe problem is the weakness of th e heart, one should refer to the \nchapter on Diseases of the Heart.   \n  \nThe use of Bryonia and Phosphorus has already been mentioned in the \ntreatment of cancer of the lungs.  There is another medicinal aid, \nwhich is not homoeopathic but works as a good supportive therapy \nand that is turmeric.  A quarter t easpoon of turmeric mixed in milk or \nwater, given four times a day, has often proven to be an excellent \ntreatment for cancer. \n  \nThe diseases of the lungs and the intestines resulting from the \nsuppression of skin diseases need to be treated with Sulphur, \nPsorinum and other remedies used for skin diseases.
