Ps orinum is a vastly effective and\npowerful remedy.  Regarding its efficacy against various diseases,\nPsorinum is similar to Sulphur.  Ho wever, with regards to sensitivity\nto heat and cold, it is just the opposit e of it.  Sulphur by nature is very\nhot, whereas Psorinum by nature is ve ry cold.  If a patient shows all\nthe symptoms of Sulphur but is cold by nature, then Psorinum will be\nthe ideal treatment instead of Sulp hur.  Both Sulphur and Psorinum\nproduce powerful effects on the skin  and the glands.  In both, the\nexcretions stink and the body appears unclean and filthy as if the\npatient has not taken a bath for a long time.  Sulphur and Psorinum are\ntopnotch homoeopathic remedies for the treatment of severe skin\ndiseases, which have become suppresse d due to the use of strong,\nforceful allopathic treatment, a nd are now adversely affecting the\nintestines and the inner linings.  In these conditions, Sulphur and\nPsorinum are both equally important .  These skin diseases exhibit\nsimilar symptoms, though they react quite differently to heat and cold.\nIrrespective of cold and heat, Psorinum proves to be very effective\nagainst certain dangerous diseases  not amenable to Sulphur, for\nexample, the cancer of the root of animal horns .  It is a very\ndangerous type of cancer killing the animal within few days.  Many a\ntime, a single dose of Psorinum 1000 will, by the gra ce of God, cure\nthe disease, although it is considered incurable.\n\nA Psorinum patient feels very cold and likes to cover himself with a\nquilt.  However, when the patient becomes a little warm in the bed,\nitching starts.  Despite some similarity in the mode of action between\nPsorinum and Sulphur, both differ wi dely from each other in their\nnature.\n\nA unique totally unrelated feature of Psorinum, not shared by any\nother remedy including Sulphur, is that strands of the hair in young\nchildren start turning grey .  I have yet to see a remedy better than\nPsorinum in the treatment of this  condition.  Soon after the treatment\nwith Psorinum 1000, every week for a few weeks, black hair starts to\ngrow from the roots.  The upper part of the hair that has become grey\ncannot become black again.  But the newer, lower part of the hair\ngrows as black.  I do not know with any certainity if Psorinum could\nalso be helpful in turning the colour of grey hair of advanced age back\ninto black. On rare occasions it has been seen that after becoming grey\ndue to ripe old age, hair starts growing black again.  I myself have\nseen many women whose hair turned black after becoming grey due to\nold age.  God only knows the functioning of this mechanism.  If a\nhomoeopathic doctor could find a su re shot remedy by which the grey\nhair of old people could turn black, then that doctor might become the\nrichest person in the world.  I invite everybody to do more research on\nthis project using Arnica and Psori num.  It is possible that this\nprescription may work in old people of cold constitution.\n\nThe skin diseases of Psorinum resemble those of Graphites.  In both of\nthese, the eczema is marred with scabs, underneath which very foul\nsmelling pus is formed and the eczema continues afresh.  In Psorinum,\nthe foul smell from the wounds  is distinctly more pronounced than\nGraphites and other remedies.  It is simply unbearable.  There is\nsevere itching  in the wounds, which bleed on scratching.  The skin\nbecomes dry and dirty.  Scaly bumps develop over the entire body that\nare resistant to healing.\n\nIn Psorinum, the eyelids are swollen and sticky .  The margins of the\neyelids become red and swollen, as in  several other remedies.  If the\ndisease becomes worse and the eyes become disfigured, Alumina or\nAlumen can prove to be ideal remedies, especially Alumina, which is\nvery powerful and effective in this respect.  If the eyes become\ninflamed and develop lumps, then Aesculus would be better than\nAlumina.  Most of the eye diseases  can improve with these or similar\nremedies.  Sometimes, the eyelids swell and turn outwards, exposing\nthe inner red surface (ectropion).  The eyes look dreadful.  The\neyelashes start to fall .  For all these symptoms, Psorinum, Hepar\nSulph and Alumina are very high-rated remedies.\n\nIn Psorinum, the patient suffers from recurrent nasal cold.  The nose\ngets blocked.  Despite blockage of the nasal passages, thin yellowish-\ngreen fluid runs from the nose , slightly relieving the burning\nsensation. In view of the changing  forms of the influenza virus,\nPsorinum remains effective only for a short while and then loses its\neffect.  The reason is that the symptoms of the disease keep on\nchanging.  Therefore, it is not possible to depend on one or two\nremedies alone for the entire treatment of catarrhal diseases.  It\nbecomes imperative to change th e treatment when the symptoms\nchange.\n\nPsorinum is the remedy for people of cold constitution.  It acts rapidly\nagainst the diseases caused by cold.  Furthermore, Psorinum has the\ncapability to surface the suppressed diseases out. Even if Psorinum\ncannot cure the patient,  it helps the physician in treating the patient\nwith other remedies by exposing the symptoms related to a particular\nremedy.  One should not be afraid if Psorinum became ineffective\nafter being effective for a short while, this does not mean that the\ndiagnosis was wrong.  It is a charact eristic of Psorinum that it is\neffective for a short while and then becomes ineffective.  However,\nafter a while, if the patient is put back on Psorinum again, it picks up\nits previous effectiveness.\n\nA Psorinum patient is always hungry, especially at night.\nCharacteristically, hunger wakes him up in the latter part of the night.\nFood makes the patient feel better.  A Sulphur patient does not feel\nhungry at night or in the morni ng, however, after sunrise, around\n11a.m., the patient feels extremely hungry by way of severe craving in\nthe stomach.\n\nIn Psorinum, the headache alternates with nasa l catarrh.  In this\ncondition, Bryonia and Rhus Tox are also  effective.  In Psorinum, the\ncough is dry.  Phlegm does not form at all.  Usually such a cough is\nvery troublesome.  At the begi nning of the disease, Aconite,\nBelladonna and Arsenic benefit the pa tient.  However, these remedies\ndo not offer a permanent cure.  For symptoms developing later, some\nother remedies should be looked for.  It is important to keep a constant\nwatch on the patient and then change the remedies as frequently as the\nsymptoms change.  However, the remedies conforming to the patient\u2019s\nconstitution usually cure the patient permanently.  These need not be\nchanged.\n\nIn Psorinum, sores develop at the angles of the mouth .  The tongue\nand the gums feel painful  constantly.  The teeth become loose and\nstart to shake.  Often due to some kind of seve re infection, despite the\nfact that the gums have become diseased, symptoms of pain,\ninflammation and fever do not develop.  Bacteria erode the gums from\nthe inside.  Similar symptoms are al so found in Baptisia i.e. there is\nsevere throat infection, to the extent  that the tonsils start to necrose,\nyet the patient does not feel any pain.\n\nSometimes, a Psorinum patient e xperiences a sudden urge to pass\nstools.  The slightest delay may result in soiling the clothes.\n\nThe constipation of Psorinum resembles that of Bryonia and\nGraphites.  Sometimes, despite loose motions, there is difficulty in\nexcretion of the faeces, because th e peristaltic movements of the\nintestines become sluggish. The symp tom of difficulty in excretion of\nthe faeces is also found in Alumina,  China and Nux Moschata.  In the\ndiarrhoea of Psorinum, the stools cont ain undigested food particles.\nMoreover, the patient urinates fr equently.  It is a symptom of\nweakness of the urinary bladder and is not due to diabetes.\n\nPsorinum is very effective against certain diseases of the prostate.\nPsorinum is also effective against cancer of the prostate , though, for\nthis disease, Silicea CM is the most  effective remedy.  During the last\nfew years, Silicea CM has been tried for the treatment of prostate\ncancer and found to be very effective.   After treating with one dose of\nSilicea CM, the benefit may stop.  The remedy may then be repeated\nafter a short interval.  However, it should not be repeated without\nreason.  In the treatment of cancers anywhere in the body, if necessary\na high potency of Silicea can be repeated sooner.  However, while the\nfirst dose is still effective, th e second dose should not be given\nunnecessarily.  Generally, Psorinum is  beneficial in the treatment of\nweakened heart muscles, severe pa in which is relieved by lying down\nand inflammation of the covering membrane of the heart\n(pericarditis).  One symptom of Psor inum is that the pulse is very\nweak and difficult to feel.\n\nPsorinum is beneficial in the trea tment of women\u2019s diseases only if\nthe symptoms of feeling cold and the foul smell of the discharges are\nconspicuous.\n\nIn Psorinum, sexual urge decreases and there is a complete loss of\nlibido.  This symptom is found in  Graphites also.  Apparently, by\nnature, Psorinum is a cold and dry remedy, yet the body temperature\nrises very high in the fever of a Psorinum patient.  A patient sweats as\nif steaming.  Despite sweating, th e patient\u2019s body temperature does\nnot subside.  The patient experiences scary dreams, feels very thirsty\nand cannot go to sleep due to unbearable itching.\n\nThe Psorinum diseases become worse with cold and during the change\nof weather.  A whiff of cold air becomes unbearable to the patient.\nEating food gives only s hort relief.  In the open air, the cough and\nitching subside.\n\nAdjuvants: Sulphur, Alumina\nPotency: 200 or higher.  Sometimes, the first dose produces\nits effect after nine to ten days.
