Except for the\nmenstrual symptoms, its overall picture resembles Pulsatilla.  Its\nsymptoms aggravate from heat.  In Pulsatilla, the menstrual bleeding\nis scanty and interrupted while in Sabina it is excessive.  The bleeding\ntendency is not limited to the uterus.  The nose and kidneys can also\nbleed.  Sabina is very useful in the treatment of excessive menstrual\nbleeding along with the generalized tende ncy to bleed.  The patient is\nprone to abort in the third month of pregnancy .  Sometimes, the\nwomen develop small knots (cysts or tu mours) in the ovaries,\nbarring pregnancy.  In this condition, Sabina  helps to cure the cysts\nof the ovaries and also promotes conception.\n\nSabina is also useful in the treatment of bleeding piles .   I t  i s  a l s o\nvery beneficial in the treatment of kidneys becoming painfully\ninflamed, associated with the passage of  blood in the urine.  Thus, it\nresembles Pareira Brava.  In Sabina, the kidneys are inflamed all over,\ncausing constant localised pain (not colicky).  In Pareira Brava, the\npain radiates downwards along the uret er into the bladder.  The stones\nfrom the kidneys may get lodged in the urinary bladder.  In Sabina,\nthe patient has a constant urge to pass urine .  The act of urination\ndoes not relieve the urge however.   The quantity of urine passed is\nscant as in Cantharis.\n\nSabina is certainly indicated and useful, in the treatment of\ndischarges resembling gonorrhoeal diseases  in both sexes.  Even if\nthere is no active gonorrhoea and the patient is apparently well; if the\ndischarge resembles that of gonorrhoea, Sabina will be very effective.\n\nIn Sabina, the patient may experience labour-like pains, even in the\nabsence of pregnancy .  The uterus contracts and bears down as in\nlabour.  This pain results in the loss of pregnancy\n(abortion\/miscarriage).  Anot her symptom of Sabina is prolonged\nexcessive menstrual bleeding , so much so that the period-free gap\nmay be very short.  The colour of the blood is bright red.  The patient\nbecomes anaemic due to excessive loss of blood.  The blood obviously\nbecomes of light colour due to dilution.\n\nViolent pains through the uterus a nd the ovaries associated with\ngenital itching are best treated with  Sabina.  The pain is not steady,\nrather it continuously moves upwards  or downwards.  Most of the\nexperienced homoeopaths are of the opinion that Sabina is the best\nremedy to prevent abortion .  In my experience, Caulophyllum is\nalso very effective (see under Caulophyllum).\n\nWhen combined with Calcarea Carb and Murex, Sabina becomes\nmore effective in the  treatment of prolonged menstrual bleeding,\ndiseases of the uterus, and the tendency to form fibroids .  This\nprescription also prevents agains t the tendency to abort.  If the\nplacental attachment of the foetus becomes detached, threatening\nabortion, then the immediate use of Sabina will obviate the loss of\nfoetus.  If the periods are followed by copious corrosive and offensive\nleucorrhoea and heightened sexual ur ge, then Sabina should be used.\nSabina also exhibits sign of polyp formation with a tendency to bleed,\noften present at the back  or thighs (natal clef t). They may prove quite\ndangerous.\n\nIn Sabina, the patient tends to  bleed though not suddenly and\nprofusely.  In Millefolium, the bleeding is as if a tap has been opened.\nThis difference must be kept in mind.\n\nSabina is also useful in the treatment of gout .  One very peculiar\nfeature of Sabina is that during th e attack of gout, the bleeding stops\naltogether.   As soon as gout is u nder control, the patient starts to\nbleed again and vice versa.  Gout symptoms aggravate in a warm\nroom.  The joints become swollen, red and shiny.  There is a feeling of\nburning in the chest.  The taste of  the mouth becomes bitter and the\nbelly hurts.  The patient may suffer from sudden headache, which\nsubsides only slowly.  The face and the head become congested with\nblood.  The teeth hurt on chewing f ood.  The abdomen feels full.  The\npatient may also remain constipated.\n\nAdjuvant: Thuja\nAntidote: Pulsatilla\nPotency: 30","modalities":"","symptoms_by_system":[],"schema_version":"1.0","api_provider":"Allahshafi"}
