Psoric Miasm
🧬 Remedy Miasm: Psoric Miasm The Psoric miasm is considered the mother of all chronic diseases. It primarily manifests as functional nervous weakness, allergies, skin itching, eruptions, and hypersensitivity.

Vertigo

Vertigo is marked by a sensation of swaying or falling, often accompanied by tinnitus and a feeling of fullness in the head. It is worsened by movement and better when lying still in a cool, dark room.

Head

Headaches are typically congestive, pulsating, and throbbing, localized in the temples or the vertex. The scalp feels sensitive, and there is a sensation as if the head were expanding. Neuralgic pains are sharp and lancinating.

Eyes

Marked edema of the eyelids, which appear swollen, red, and puffy. There is intense itching, burning of the conjunctiva, and increased lacrimation. Photophobia is common, and vision may be blurred during the height of the headache.

Ears

Tinnitus is a prominent symptom, often described as a buzzing or ringing sound. There may be a sensation of pressure in the middle ear, and the external ear may show signs of erythema or edema.

Face

The face is flushed, hot, and swollen, particularly the eyelids and cheeks. Facial neuralgia is common, characterized by sharp, stabbing pains that radiate along the branches of the trigeminal nerve, often accompanied by burning.

Nose

Vasomotor rhinitis with profuse, watery discharge. The nasal mucosa is swollen and congested, leading to difficulty in breathing through the nose. Sneezing is frequent and paroxysmal.

Mouth

The tongue is often coated, dry, and red at the edges. There may be a metallic taste in the mouth, and the gums may appear swollen or tender, occasionally showing small aphthous ulcers.

Throat

Sensation of constriction or a lump in the throat. The pharynx is red, dry, and painful upon swallowing. There is an associated feeling of heat and burning in the esophagus.

Chest

Palpitations are frequent and strong, with a sense of oppression in the chest. Respiration may be labored due to the sensation of tightness. The heart action is often irregular, and the pulse is rapid and weak.

Stomach & Abdomen

Nausea and vomiting may occur, often accompanied by epigastric distress. There is a marked aversion to food and a desire for cold, refreshing drinks. Abdominal bloating and cramping pains are common.

Urinary & Genital

Increased frequency of urination with a sensation of burning during micturition. Urine may appear concentrated or darkened. In some cases, there is an inhibition of the urinary flow leading to transient retention.

Extremities

Rheumatic-like pains in the joints, often accompanied by swelling and redness. Hands and feet may exhibit edema, itching, and a sensation of heat. Muscles feel sore and bruised upon movement.

Neck & Back

Stiffness of the muscles of the neck and upper back. Pains are often rheumatic in nature, feeling worse upon motion and better by applying cold compresses to the affected area.

Skin

The hallmark of the remedy. Sudden onset of urticaria, erythema, and papular eruptions. The skin is intensely itchy, burning, and sensitive to touch. Edematous swellings appear rapidly, particularly on the face and extremities.

Sleep

Sleep is restless and interrupted by itching or the intensity of the neuralgic pains. Drowsiness during the day is common, but the patient is unable to achieve deep or refreshing sleep at night.

Generalities

A general state of vasomotor instability. The patient is distinctly worse in a warm environment and better in cool air. There is a strong tendency toward circulatory congestion and localized edematous reactions.

🤝 Complementary Remedies:

Apis Mellifica is often complementary in cases of extensive edema and urticaria, helping to resolve the fluid retention and stinging sensations that persist after the initial acute phase of Antipyrinum is addressed.

⚠️ Inimical / Antidotes:

Coffee and stimulants are generally considered inimical as they tend to exacerbate the nervous irritability and tachycardia associated with the remedy. It is antidoted by Pulsatilla and sometimes Camphora in cases of excessive sensitivity.

🔄 Follows Well:

Follows well after Belladonna when the initial congestive state has been partially managed but skin symptoms and edematous swellings remain as the primary complaint.

Apis Mellifica, Urtica Urens, Belladonna, Chloralum.
