Hypericum perforatum
St. John’s Wort
Hypericum perforatum is suited for patients presenting with neurological, musculoskeletal, dermatological, psychological, and systemic conditions, primarily affecting the nervous system, muscles, skin, psyche, and overall vitality, marked by nerve pain, trauma sensitivity, wound complications, depression, and fatigue. Neurological symptoms include shooting or lancinating pains, numbness, or tingling, resembling peripheral neuropathy or trigeminal neuralgia, worse with touch or cold. Musculoskeletal symptoms involve pain from crush injuries, spinal trauma, or joint soreness, resembling post-traumatic pain or sciatica, worse with motion or dampness. Dermatological symptoms feature puncture wounds, burns, or slow-healing sores, resembling infected wounds or neuropathic ulcers, worse with pressure or cold. Psychological symptoms include depression, anxiety, or irritability, resembling major depressive disorder or post-traumatic stress disorder, worse with emotional stress or night. Systemic symptoms include fatigue, chilliness, or hypersensitivity, resembling chronic fatigue syndrome or post-injury exhaustion, worse with cold or exertion. The remedy is highly relevant for nerve-related and traumatic conditions with a strong psychological or systemic component, commonly observed in individuals with sensitive, chilly constitutions, particularly those with nerve injuries, chronic pain, or depression associated with physical or emotional trauma.
