Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) is the most common primary malignancy of the liver, typically arising in the setting of chronic liver inflammation and cirrhosis. It is a highly aggressive tumor characterized by rapid progression and poor prognosis if not detected early.
HCC is primarily driven by chronic inflammation. Major causes include chronic Hepatitis B (HBV) and Hepatitis C (HCV) infections, chronic alcohol consumption, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD/NASH), and exposure to aflatoxins. A. Early Symptoms: Asymptomatic in early stages.

Portal hypertension, variceal hemorrhage, hepatic failure, metastatic spread (lungs, bones).
